B7: Cardioid Large Diaphragm Single Backplate:
The classic vocal sound
• Classic vintage detailed mids with airy presence
• Suggested Applications: Lead vocals, background vocals, saxophone, flugelhorn, clean or distorted electric guitar, pedal steel and slide guitar, organ, conventional jazz recording.
A tady je clanek z Gearslutz o tom, jak v ADK modifikovali jejich model TT. Podobne to bude i u toho CE:

Right!
Bing's TT is actually the very first "version" of our latest baby.
The BLUE TT.
So what is it?
I liked the stock TT but found it too bright, amongst other things...
A nice distant mic, but too bright up-close, sensitive but not enough headroom, low end could be a bit nicer...
So I tried a K47 style capsule in there, altered the polarisation V and upgraded the signal path.
The resulting mic sounded NOTHING like the stock TT... so Larry decided to buy a bunch of those K47 style capsules. They're made by BLUE. Unfortunately, we could only buy a limited quantity of those for various reasons... and so we came up with the ADK "Custom Shoppe" idea: we'll be using chinese bodies, my circuits, great capsules and excellent components throughout. Availability on those mics will depend, of course, on parts availability. We're already fine tuning the new PSU for those mics. Accessories like shockmounts and cables will be very high quality.
The "BK47" capsules that I have here are very good indeed. Compared to the Neumann K47 they're a bit darker and have a slightly lighter bottom.
I decided that it would be better to leave the user compensate for proximity effect to his/her taste, and so left the LF response unaffected, with conservatively rated coupling caps. And believe me, it really goes down there, no prob!
So, unless you use these pups in Omni, you'll have to cut some LF
with a good shelving EQ. The FIG-8 seting is really really meaty.
The top end is very sweet. The mids are relatively natural with a slight presence boost. Works very well on most vocals.
It's not a hyped mic, it's a natural sounding mic that probably sounds a bit "retro" compared to what's available these days.

JP Gerard also provided me with the following information regarding the comparison between the ADK CD and the ADK BLUE TT
"Here's some more info: The Blue TT has a slightly lower output but
higher overload margin. I've noticed a few TC and TT owner mentionning that
their mic would clip on loud screams... which is not a problem if you're
tracking soft Jazz of course. The BLUE TT capsule also sounds smoother due
to the slightly lower polarisation voltage. The tube used in the BLUE TT has
lower noise than the CE tube so overal S/N ratio of those mics is actually
about the same (CE slightly more sensitive but also noisier vs BLUE TT less
sensitive but quieter).
Soundwise, the CE, depending on how you look at it, sounds a bit brighter,
more open, lighter, cleaner, stronger, more exciting than the BLUE TT.
The BLUE TT will be, by comparison, smoother, less aggressive, warmer,
darker, less distorted, more natural, purer and cleaner than the CE.
Again, I think that it's a good idea to see those mics as different mics for
different applications.
Without EQ:
Stock CE, or TT with selected tube: distant mic'ing, or close mic'ing to
brighten up the source.
BLUE TT, BLUE CE: close mic'ing for a big sound, placement along the
reverberation radius for a natural sound.
More specifically:
The Stock CE/TT have a capsule that brings out detail, upper midrange,
harmonics but will enhance room sound, any harshness of the source,
sybillance in voice but also low end resonance when used up close.
The BLUE CE/TT have a capsule that brings out warmth, midrange, presence,
size but will enhance low and low-mid frequencies , throat resonance in
voice, and add mid-range coloration."
