-AVID's stock is roughly 1/6th what it was 5 years ago (so much for luring good engineers with stock options)
-Low morale among Daly City engineers (due to layoffs & uncertainty)
-AVID's (Digidesign) nickname among Silicon Valley engineers is "AVoID"
-AVID skips AES 2009
-AVID's Pro Tools profits come from hardware sales
-AVID is now nearly 50% offshore
They layoff 320 PT engineers in Daly City (2009), and subcontract Pro Tools software development to a third party (Global Logic) in Ukraine (Kiev). Where's the synergy in this M&A?
