par veci jsem z reasonu slysel hrat celkem prumerne, ale clovek kterej to delal by byl rekneme s cubase, okamzite o dva levely co se tyce cistoty, citelnosti a prostoru vys.

Ja delal v Reasonu tusim do verze 3 a to, ze ten mix ten zvuk nejak kurvi se mi taky zdalo. Je to ale fakt inspirativni prostredi a pro me jako zacatecnika to byl na dlouhou dobu software, se kterym sem si vystacil a leccos se na nem naucil...

ja jsem se hodne dlouho motal v zacarovanym kruhu, protoze jsem si na to strasne zvyknul a delalo se mi s tim opravdu paradne.. to zas o tom, na co je reason uzasnej - je to krasnej system se skvelym routovanim - podle me idealni vec pro zacatecniky na pochopeni veci - kdyz se neboji se pustit do kabliku a experimentovat

nasiel niekto na nejakych zajranicnych forach (kvraudio, gearslutz, alebo rovno v propellerheads fore) nejake pripady ktore by riesili zly zvuk reasonu ? by ma zaujimalo ci je to len miestna zalezitost ezone alebo sa to riesi aj mimo... ak je to fakt taky pruser, je pravdepodobne ze diskusii o tom by mal byt plny net...

inak co sa tyka mixaze ja som mal vzdy viac problem vyladit nieco vo fruity nez v reasone s fruty som mal stale taky pocit ze to hra tak divne meko a nie a noe z toho dostat pevnejsi zvuk... vo FL som sa natrapil ovela viac, vlastne z reasonu som odisiel len koli tomu ze som chcel pouzivat niektore vstcka a plus hw synthy, kdezto z fl som prave odisiel (robil som naposledy v 6stke) prave koli nespokojnosti zo zvukom... aj ked tusim ze to bol len placebo efekt ))

v podstate sa všade nevedia dohodnút, tak jak tu . v každom prípade na mna sedí Poshookov výrok o schopnostných rezervách uplne dobre, takže kludne budem nad Reasonom uvažovat dalej. hlavne som zvedavý na cenu..

Let get one thing straight, if you try to do... no scratch that..... if you dream of trying to do what you can do with reason with your average VST then the CPU will explode in your face.

Now... if you dream of trying to do what you can do with Reason , using Reaktor, then the CPU will nuke your city , your country and possible the entire planet.

Dont talk about VSTs, I was there when VSTs appeared, and when there was not even a mention of a VST sounding as good as Reason. Year 2001. I was runing a 200 mhz computer on reason 2.5 and VSTs was simply out of the question. Reason was the only DAw that alowed me to run 6 and more tracks without bring my computers to its news, and I am talking about synth tracks not audio/ sampler tracks. Reason migh not be the best sounding solutions , but there simply nothing out there that is so light on the cpu, that will reach the ability of reason to layer, multitrack even if you add a quad core into the setup.

For me the big mistake of Propellahead was that they offered after 8 years only 1 new synth, Thor.That is a big mistake, with all the great VSTs that emerged the last years. The second big mistake is that when they at last decided to add audio record to reason they made it as a seperate product, which was kind of stupid.

It took them too long to imporve the sequencer as well. Reason is far from perfect DAW. But its the only complete DAW out there, offering good enough tools for anything, and still the very best laptop DAW. But the best DAW in general it is not.

Oh and we should not forget the price, 200 euros for the average synth, 300 euros for Reason. its not very difficult to imagine why Reason is such a huge temptation to many pro and non pro musicians out there. There is no other software out there that offers so much with so little money, well almost, there is also KOMPLETE.

Ok lets take things step by step.

1) Reason has one of the best samplers in the industry NN-XT with two elements that make it so powerful : a) easy , b) powerful . Dont take my claim as is, most self respecting magazine have given more than enough praise to this sampler

2) Maalstorm is one of the best if not the best graintable synthesis synth , that sounds great. Graintable is no longer the big news, but bare in mind that when first came out it was huge. It still is one of the best synths, for weird sounds and timbres

3) Substractor, is dead easy to use and consumes almost 0% of processing power . Think of it as Synth1 on steroids. Like synth1 , does not sound great to you, then layer it and layer it and layer it ......

4) The Vocoder is a bad sun of the beach, capable into turning in a mutli band eq editing down to partial level !!!!... very powerful stuff

5) MATRIX is one of the most sophisticated arpeggiators ... When it first came out other DAWS were "Arpeggi.... what ?"

6) Effects section more than satisfying , and they have been a standard feature when Cubase an effect or a capable synth was a big luxury

7) Reason, is closed ... yeap it is a very good thing... its stable as rock, never crashes never surrenders. The only thing that comes close is Ableton Live.

Again its closed... again another bonus... you can study thousands of reason songs, the only thing that can make a song incompatible with your Reason are Refills . Excellent for beginners. Not available in any other Daw.

9) REWIRE... Invented the thing.... Looking for a DAW that will works hand in hand with your DAW ... look no further ... the best of the best...

10) the routing is just insane... route everything to anything

11) interface "brain dead" friendly.... your are completely noob... no problem...

12) Lighter on CPU and RAM than a bowl of Kellogs ... It was only thing that could run shit loads of synths in my Crappy old 200Mhz Pentium, when other DAWs were collapsing behind it. On a Dual Core it just wrecks havoc, on quad well , I dont want to go there.

13) Thor is the only thing I heard that comes close to analog sound... it does not get better sounding than this.

14) Refills , refills, refills.... Probably the biggest preset machine in the world... many of the refills are completely free too.. Think of each refill a zip with thousands of samples and presets.

15) Many, many more.... sorry I am running out of ink

The only thing that was crap on Reason is the inability to record audio and the sequencer. The first one remains even though the new software from the same company RECORD tries to fill the gap and claims to work hand in hand with reason from inside reason as one application. Cant vouch it as I never tried it.

The Sequencer was really bad, not in terms of ease of use but in terms it lacked some standard features. But all were fixed with the latest version. The Sequencer now is still not the best, but will keep you more than happy.

Of course there many,many other thing in Reason , which make it maybe the biggest temptation in music software. The 3 killer elements in reason are , ease of use, uniqueness, light.... No other DAW excels in that area and that is why many tracks made with Reason sounds great and cover almost all musical ranges.

Oh did I say that its the only software that can safely claim that is a REAL WORKSTATION , comparing it with hardware equivalents ?

Also it would be insane to think that you can get a better more complete music software than Reason at its price.

Ja zkousel naposled pred lety 2ku a neprislo mi, ze by sama o sobe mela nejak zlej zvuk. Co mi prislo blby byl subtractor, ten se mi nelibil vubec. No a pak de myslim hodne o ty (ne)moznosti tam nejak rozumne procesovat a bez toho se neda rozumnej mix udelat. Lidi co trochu slysej sou pak nuceny se hodne soustredit na vyber zvuku, jejich ladeni (obalky, pitch) a aranz. No a to neni 2x zly. Lidi, co ale neslysej (at uz kvuli tomu, ze to proste neumej nebo nemaj to stesti a nemaj penize na rozumnej poslech), tak z nich pak lezou ruzny hruzy a projevi se u nich uplne vsechny typicky neduhy ty integrovany samplebanky atd atd.

Minulej rok sem michal jednu vec, co byla delana v reasonu a velka cast ty prace byl fakt boj se spatnejma samplama. Osklivy vejsky na hihatach/shakerech, zadnej detail, osklivy aliasy z interpolace, placaty stredy a basy... Urcite ale hodne z toho bylo proste vyberem zdroju.

Nedavno jsem koukal na nejakej "tutorial" od Icicle o tom jak dela svoje veci a prekvapilo me, ze treba zrovna basy a i jiny veci pouziva z reasonu >rewire> logic. Jeho posledni deska zni supr.


Je to fakt 90% o tom, jak co clovek umi a jak to cejti a ze ma vizi. Krasne je to videt na rozhovoru s Alex Da Kid v poslednich dvou dilech Pensados Place. Logic a nekolik HDD se samplama je 99% co potrebuje. Doporucuju http://www.youtube.com/show?p=KogBjNZTqeA

Prvni je reason, druhy cubase?

Zvukově se mi nelíbí ani jedno, ale o trochu lepe se mi zda II.
Ale je to asi nesmysl to takhle porovnavat..
