Moj sef a muzikantsky frojnd sa rozhodol kupit si monitory a naucit sa miesat svoje nahravky a rozhodol sa pre tannoy reveal 8D. Nakolko tieto maju digitalny vstup a Georg po zisteni, kolko zacaluje za bedne, rata kazdu korunu, koumal som, ako bednicky pripojit k PC. Jeho onboard zvukovka SPDIF vystup nema. Na nahravanie zvukovku nepotrebuje, na to ma pomerne solidny 24bitovy rekorder od fostexu a dve oktavy. Moje patrave oko vysnorilo v miestnom elektre pci zvukovecku terratec aureon 5.1 za 20 eur, oplyvajucu optickym SPDIF IO, a rozhodol som sa to risknut (v mojom pripade je vyhodna optika in, kedze Fostex ma SPDIF out urobeny optikou a tym padom by sa cez fostex dalo eventualne tocit rovno do pc). Vedel som, ze koli tannoyom bude treba kartu hacknut a vyrobit koaxialny vystup, ale v tomto smere som si veril. Po vybaleni kramu sa ukazalo, ze vedla optickeho transmitera su dva zahadne koliky s oznacenim S a G, ktore som hbite dekodoval ako signal a ground, premeranie ukazalo pritomnost, nie TTL, ale 2V signalu. Sudruhovia, karta ma rovno pripravu na koaxialny vystup, zrejme pomocou breakout panelu, ktory ovsem neexistuje :)
A teraz pointa pribehu: nagugil som, ze ludia skusali karty osadene chipom CMI8738, pouzivat so starym wdm driverom na m-audio kartu DiO2448. Stiahol som driver a voila, karta beha jak babka po kefire, s asiom na dvojjadre latencia 128 samplov ;)

pravdepodobne pojde tuto srandu uskutocnit s hocakou blivajzkartou osadenou cmi8738, ale bez zaruky
dolezita poznamka na koniec, m-audio driver logicky DISABLUJE vsetky analogove IO (DiO2448 ziadne nemala), takze hack sluzi vyhradne na ziskanie SPDIF IO!!!
snad som inspiroval niekoho, komu sa to bude hodit (podstatne je najst nejaky geret ako prevodnik, ale hned ma napadaju kadejake multiefekty, samozrejme behringer src2496, atd) a ma hlboko do kapsy. 8738 sa tiez pomerne casto montuje ako onboard audio...

AES/EBU pouziva takisto 5V, takze tam netreba riesit nic, rovno sa tych 5V (idealne cez bufer a oddelovacie trafko) vyvedie na konektor. koaxial podla SPDIF standardu ma ale 1=2V a 0=0V, takze potrebujes bud trafko 1:2 alebo prinajhorsom odporovy delic (fuj, samozrejme terratec pouziva tuto moznost). optika pouziva tie cierne aktivne "konektory" od toshiby (TOxX1xx) a tie funguju na TTL urovni.
