Avid® (NASDAQ: AVID) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mountain View, CA-based Euphonix, a leader in large-format digital audio consoles, media controllers and peripherals. With the acquisition, Avid will deliver a broad range of audio and video control surfaces and consoles designed to meet the needs of customers ranging from the independent professional to the high-end broadcaster. Avid plans to continue to support and sell both Euphonix control surfaces and Avid’s existing ICON solution, enabling customers to leverage existing investments in industry-leading hardware.

An open letter to Euphonix customers from Avid
Avid has posted an open letter to Euphonix customers. There isn’t really any news in it, just thought I’d share it with you anyway.

We want to welcome you into the Avid® family. If you haven’t already heard, we’re excited to announce that Avid has acquired Euphonix. Martin Kloiber and the rest of the Euphonix team have done a fantastic job of delivering innovative and compelling products, and we’re thrilled to have them join our team. We’d also like to let you know how this acquisition will benefit you as a customer.

So, why did we choose Euphonix?

Euphonix has long been renowned as a leader in professional audio, with an award-winning product line that complements our own audio products. By bringing its full range of consoles and control surfaces to our audio portfolio, we can better meet the needs of a wider scope of audio and video professionals like you from independent engineers to those in high-end broadcast and audio post. No ono to bude jinak, Avid pry zjistil ze nejvic zisku ma z prodeje Hw mimo digidesign.Typu Maudio.Proste pri stavu dnesniho trhu kde se cim dal vic pro audio presouva do malych studii, tak je tezke konkurovat s HD systemem Protools treba proti Logicu, nebo Cubendu, Samplitude .O tom svedci i to, ze vyvojovy tym Protools byl presunut Avidem z draheho Sillicon Valley do Ukrajiny.Jedine,co muze udelat, aby zustal v prodejich SW konkurence schopnou firmou, je vyvinout levenjsi system neomezeny jako Protools LE nebo Maudio.

Ocekavam Artist pro PC a ocekavam Euphonix verzi C24.otevrenou pro pc.Eucon se ma stat naprosto otevrenou platformou na kterou budou muset reagovat i treba AMS Neve s Genesys nebo SSLs AWS, Matrix nebo Mackie -vsichni kdo pouzivaji HUI nebo MCU protokol.
